It utilizes brass rings to secure the Mylar and nylon screws to isolate the capsule halves. Since the capsule represents 90% of the microphones tone we have decided to take extra care and use the best available capsule. The Tim Campbell K67 capsule is based on a 1960?s vintage set of original back plates which offers a much greater vintage tone than alternative offerings. It utilizes brass rings to secure the Mylar and nylon screws to isolate the capsule halves. Unlike similar offerings that feature Chinese-made capsules, the CT67 is the only fully european made K87 reproduction on the market today.
The SA-67 features premium Vishay capacitors on the audio path as well as polystyrene capacitors, which are more stable and much more linear in the top end. This makes them the perfect choice for feedback circuitry. Additionally, the unit features an American made AMI BV12 output transformer and a premium Tung Sol EF-806-S tube.
